Polaris II

 Whaleboat

24' LOA   5' Beam

These plans are intended for stitch and glue construction This whaleboat is based on what may be the oldest documented whaleboat, possibly built by

George Rogers of New London Connecticut. This builder built boats for Arctic exploration ships. This particular model was

aboard the Arctic explorer steamer vessel 'Polaris' and abandoned  at Newman Bay, Greenland in 1872. Commander Peary brought

it back to the US in 1906. These plans are for a similar model to be built using developed surfaces so it can be built using stitch and glue  boat building methods.

A complete set of plans are available including construction plans, hull panel patterns and other required drawings to complete this boat.
